Pediatric Arm Immobilizer Sizing Guide
Simple, Accurate, and Comfortable Arm Restraint Solutions for Kids
Finding the right size ensures both comfort and effective immobilization. All you need is a soft tape measure and your child’s arm measurements.
How To Measure
-
Length
Measure from just above the wrist to the middle of the upper bicep while your child’s arm is held straight. This measurement will determine the length of the immobilizer. For example, the newborn size covers about 5 ½ inches of arm length
-
Width (Circumference)
Measure around the fullest part of the arm at the elbow joint. This will give you the width needed. The immobilizer wraps fully around the arm, and the Velcro straps allow you to adjust the fit for comfort.
Important: The width listed in the chart is the actual circumference of the immobilizer itself, not including the Velcro straps.
-
Secure Fit
The immobilizer is designed to cover the elbow securely. This is what keeps the arm from bending and ensures proper immobilization.
Why Accurate Measurements Matter
Choosing the correct size helps prevent slipping, ensures your child’s comfort, and provides the right level of support. If the immobilizer is too short, it may not stabilize the elbow properly. If it is too large, it may feel loose or uncomfortable.
Next Steps
-
Compare your child’s measurements to the sizing chart below to find the best fit.
-
If you are between sizes, select the option that most closely matches your child’s length measurement. The Velcro straps will give you flexibility with the width.
